The Teign Valley is made up of a patchwork of fields, hedgerows and remnants of historic oak woodlands, dotted with houses and farms. It is an ideal area for walking or just enjoying the view! We have our own small flocks of Manx Loaghtan and Greyface Dartmoor sheep (both rare breeds), and the Sheldon land is managed as part of the Dartmoor Environmentally Sensitive Area. Some parts are open to all guests at Sheldon, others are reserved for those on private retreat.
