Sheldon is easy to find if you know how, but there are some traps for the unwary so please read the following instructions carefully - it is not well signed on the ground.
Why not contact www.freewheelers.co.uk/Sheldon_Centre if you want to offer or request a car share?
Sheldon is at the end of a fairly rough no through road.
Our own directions (for road and public transport):
These have been carefully honed over the years, and we think you will find them good if you are coming from the M5 or the A38, by train or by bus. Here is the link for a printable pdf file.
You may find it helpful to supplement these by printing off a Google map in case you stray from our directions.
Using SatNav:
If you enter Sheldon's postcode "EX6 7LE", your SatNav may get to the Teign House Inn carpark, or a layby just behind it and be told you have arrived to Sheldon because we share our postcode with a couple of properties just behind the pub.
From the pub carpark you need to continue on the lane towards Doddiscombsleigh and take the first left which is signed Sheldon.
If you enter "Sheldon" in your SatNav you are likely to end up in the village of Sheldon which is an hour away near Honiton.
Mobile Phones:
Mobile phone reception is quite poor along the Teign Valley and in some of the surrounding villages. Don't rely on being able to telephone for directions in the vicinity.
Google Maps
Here is a link to Sheldon on Google map with some of the main routes to Sheldon drawn in. If you create a Google map account for yourself you can enter your start point and get directions.
Here is a Google map centred on Sheldon.
Here is a link to the AA Route Planner. Enter Sheldon's postcode EX6 7LE as your destination. This will take you as far as the houses just behind the Teign House Inn. You need to turn off the B3193 at the Teign House Inn towards Doddiscombsleigh, then after crossing the river Teign and the old railway line, turn left up the Sheldon line.
