Friday 24th July 2009
8pm to 10pm

The Sheldon theatre has seldom seen such a big crowd as the capacity audience that braved heavy showers for a memorable sell-out performance in July 2008.
Considered by many to be the best Abba tribute band in Europe, ABBA MAGIC was founded back in 1994 by John Butler and Annette Butti. They were soon recognised as one of the top tributes to ABBA alongside Bjorn Again, with their uncanny likeness to ABBA’s vocals, many exact replicas of original costumes, effective and authentic choreography and even convincing Swedish accents!

For many years ABBA MAGIC have been top of the bill at many large outdoor events and music festivals playing to tens of thousands of people. Past venues include concerts at the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Racecourse in 2003 attended by The Queen and a huge concert in the Shetland Islands - not forgetting the enormous Wembley Stadium. ABBA MAGIC are so popular, that the band are invited back by numerous venues year after year to play at sell-out concerts. Gawsworth Hall is so well attended that 6 weeks before ABBA MAGIC were due to play there in 2003, even the band couldn’t get tickets!

A major highlight for the band was being asked to sing at the premiere of the hit West End musical MAMMA MIA which was attended by Benny and Bjorn themselves and broadcast live to millions on prime-time national television!
