FEEDBACK: Groups 2007

group bookings information

We came to you last year for our Annual Staff Away Day and spent a very relaxed and useful day discussing staff issues and organisational development and forward planning at The Sheldon Centre. Everyone enjoyed the calm and friendly atmosphere of our day there and recall how welcome you made us feel. They have asked me to see if we could come again this year. (Exeter CVS)

... Many thanks for the email, Sheldon's hospitality was excellent as always and Hilary looked after us superbly. (Wolborough PCC away day)

... It is a very relaxed atmosphere and very peaceful. It is very conducive to training, as the young mums are relaxed and feel able to open up. It has also been an excellent opportunity for the mums to spend quality time with their children and to bond together as a group. The children were very relaxed and settled in the creche which enabled the mums to participate fully in the training. The children really enjoyed the woods and the chickens and we were fortunate that the weather allowed us a day to enjoy the beautiful outside!
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ... we would love to have stayed longer! We feel very 'at home' here and would like to thank everyone at Sheldon for making such a fantastic experience possible!

... Very many thanks from Palace Avenue Disciple group. We had a wonderful day with you, so quiet and peaceful. We felt very cared for and cherished. Please give our thanks to everyone, we didn't see who helped make this day so special.

... The accommodation was outstanding and the location was beautiful. The facilities (chapel, meeting rooms and dining room) accommodated our planned activities more than adequately. Kitchen facilities were excellent - clean and in good condition. Staff were helpful in providing last minute items that had been forgotten, or that were needed due to a change of plans.
We would have found our stay more enjoyable if ... staff were more friendly, especially in the "rules and regs" presentation.

... Thank you for our weekend at Sheldon. The children loved the site and the staff thought the surroundings and facilities ideal. So we are all very grateful for a weekend which has brought us close to ten young people and given us the opportunity of sharing the gospel with them. Christ is risen, Alleluia.

... Sheldon suited our needs. Teenagers with autism could enjoy the peace of the site. The accommodation and equipment were all of a high standard which meant that we, as leaders, could enjoy being with the teenagers in a safe, clean and pleasant environment. The staff at Sheldon were helpful in every way and made a slightly stressful situation with a broken minibus easier to handle. Thank you Sheldon for your excellent servanthood!

... a splendid day on 23rd. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, both the location and setting and the food. It has been recorded as the best one yet!! Thanks so much for your assistance on the day and looking after us so well. I hope we can visit you again.

... The venue allows us freedom, comfort, peace and space to conduct our residential trip within the panorama of the Devon countryside - what more could we want!

... It's a wonderful place with a quiet gentle welcome. The facilities are excellent with comfortable rooms. Both chapels are lovely spaces for worship and contemplation. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after. The kitchen facilities are excellent, making the catering easy. The recycling efforts are well organised. Our group love it. Just a pity more could not come. Our mistake was to book a half term week.
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ... not much to suggest. You have already reached a high standard. An electric whisk in the kitchen is all we can come up with.

... We had a beautiful day, which was greatly enhanced by our venue. How can you not hear God speaking to you in such a magnificent setting.

~ Beautiful and peaceful place to stay; enabled quiet reflection as well as group activities.
~ Sleeping accommodation excellent.
~ Facilities and seminar spaces excellent.
~ Very well organised.
~ Sheldon staff very helpful, approachable, always on hand, both prior to and during visit.

~ All the facilities met our needs for the weekend.
~ There was nothing else that we needed.
~ The standard of facilities is excellent and the atmosphere in the Pound House is very relaxing.
~ We had a very productive and enjoyable weekend.

...Just a note to say a BIG thank you for all your help prior to and during St Mary's, Bideford, weekend at Sheldon. Everyone had a fantastic time and we have all come back feeling renewed and refreshed, thanks both to the teaching and also the beautiful surroundings of Sheldon.

... This is our 7th year at Sheldon and each year gets better and better. God even provides sunshine for us! Starter cleaning packs good idea and very useful.
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ... Pound House kitchen door courtyard side, would benefit from a stronger door closure device to stop it slamming with a through draft. Also opposite side door frame needs repairing from slamming damage.

~ We have liked everything about Sheldon - so comfortable, wonderful fellowship and tactful hosting from the Sheldon team. Wonderful centre - plenty of space, plenty of facilities, super countryside. Will have to return.
~ It's very relaxed, no pressure to behave in a certain way. It's very clean and well kept.
~ Very unobtrusive staff!
~ Wonderful flowers etc. Amphitheatre etc.
~ Wonderful surroundings, clean functional facilities, well organised, lots of space.
~ God's peace in the chapel.
~ Peaceful and inspirational setting. Pig Pens wonderful.
~ Ideal venue for this number.
~ Great accommodation (shower especially) beautifully clean and comfortable.
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ... there was a path or stepping stones near the lavender for campers to walk on from field to the loo - walking on the gravel disturbed Pound House residents. This is a very minor point. 10.30pm too early for 'quiet' - 11pm would be more reasonable. A second toaster! A few hooks on the beams in the Long Barn bedrooms for hanging towels!

~ Accommodation was excellent.
~ Your admin staff had the right blend of being available to help/leaving us to organise ourselves.
~ Setting was wonderful and peaceful.
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ... (all minor points)
~ A freezer would have been useful.
~ Weather had been better - maybe next time!
~ More noticeboard free space for our use.
~ Able to have a camp-fire, but understand why not.

FEEDBACK: Groups 2006

group bookings information

...I thought I would write a short feedback letter ....
Among the things we really appreciated were
~ helpful instructions and checklist in the booklet for groups
~ the clean, well equipped kitchen - ideal for our numbers, we eat very well!
~ the use of the old chapel - it was very atmospheric
~ the use of the games field - a mellow evening just chilling with a ball
~ the woodland walks, some of the adults were keen bird watchers
~ the visit to the farmyard to see the lambs
~ the shop
~ the ground floor of the Long Barn was a good homely space for meals and flexible enough to use for our dance and drama each day
~ the butcher/grocers in Christow - helpful, friendly and even prepared a birthday cake for our new 18 year old
~ the location of Sheldon, close to Haytor where we scrambled up rocks and made friends with the ponies
The Long Barn - Please note the good things listed above about the kitchen and flexibility. The Long Barn was a really good building to stay in. The rooms were small and that was fine, although storing luggage was a problem for some of our group. Sound travels about the building, but in unexpected ways. Some of the girls proved reluctant to traipse downstairs to the ladies toilets and showers. For our numbers (16) the Long Barn was ideal. We sat around one big table for meals and there was a sense of being family that was cosy, without being claustrophobic. One other thought, we wondered if it might be helpful for there to be a cleaning and clearing checklist for the final day, that groups could tick off as they do this. It's great to be trusted to do this well, in that no-one comes and inspects, and we think we were thorough and careful, but it does leave us with a small element of doubt in 'have we done everything we were expected to do'.
Coming with a group - The thing which struck me about coming with a group and only using the public half of the site, was how private the private half is. There are only two points of access to the fields, by the Long Barn and at the end of the woodland walk, and because it is shielded by the farmhouse, Linhay and many hedges, it is almost invisible.
Last of all - This was a risk for myself and [partner's name] because we were sharing a place that is dear to us with other people but it paid off, sharing a place we love with people we love. Thank you for bearing with us and being so hospitable and helpful.

... the accommodation is fantastic, with lots of choices for a large group with simple, twin and double room options. We are made welcome, but also are free to pursue our chosen activities off site, without feeling someone is keeping an eye on us.

... Thank you for the fabulous weekend we spent with you .... I am enclosing a copy of the report which shows what a positive experience the weekend was the the teenage mothers. It was also an ideal location from the staffs' point of view and particularly for the sort of training that we were providing, in raising self-esteem. We welcomed not having the use of mobiles, as this meant the group could really escape from their lives back home and relax into the weekend. Their free time spent with the children was virtually stress-free, as the support of the group meant that no mother was left on her own to deal with an irate child. The realisation that they were 'not the only one' experiencing difficulties was a support in itself, and the group was able to grow by sharing experiences and helping each other out over the weekend. Thank you once again for the opportunity to share your delightful facilities. We look forward to our next visit.

... wonderful due to -
~ location
~ peaceful and tranquil surroundings
~ accommodation
~ scenic views
~ wonderful, helpful and delightful hosts
~ food brilliant
~ like heaven on earth
Thank you again for a wonderful time. We would love to come again some time ...

... the atmosphere was so peaceful and tranquil. Everyone was so friendly and helpful (staff included).[Guest name] thoroughly enjoyed himself. Especially as he has a very bad memory problem. All the group loved him. He wa able to do a few things when we all did the few chores. We enjoyed the services and it was lovely to sit and be quiet for a while. We felt really rested when we went home. It was my second stay at Sheldon and hope there will be many more.

... We certainly did enjoy our stay at Sheldon. The new "Pig Pens" are really grand and I was one of the folks lucky enough to use one. I must confess I did not want to leave mine. This was the first week for many years that we have not had dawn to dusk sunshine, but it did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. We spent more time this year at Sheldon the favourite place being fun and games down in the valley. We met a rather jolly (intoxicated) fairground showman on the Hoe at Plymouth. He invited our youngsters back the following day for free rides on his fairground and gave me £50 to buy ice creams. David was well connected in the Showman's Guild who are supporters of the Variety Club. Rides on the Paignton to Kingswear steam railway were enjoyed, but not as much as riding the donkeys at St Anne's Chapel, Gunnislake. The kids are now sick of ice cream. I know you are still shocked that we managed to hand over to Hillary and to leave half an hour before the deadline of 9.30am. I hope we can return to you next year for the same week

~ kitchen facilities are excellent, but see point below
~ plenty of room and comfortable bedrooms
~ we enjoyed the freedom of the terrace, particularly when barbecuing and eating
~ some had difficulty coping with recycling as here in Somerset there is a different system. There was some confusion about what the hens eat, but otherwise it worked well. A few spare black sacks would have been helpful
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ...
~ soap dispensers and paper towels must be provided in all general toilets. It is a basic hygiene necessity
~ why are all toilet rolls removed from every bathroom? Visitors may expect to pay for replacements. We certainly left the remainder of ours (most little used) but one doesn't normally expect to bring one
~ making toast for 37 people was challenging on the toaster provided. A conveyor belt type as used in most hotels and placed in the dining room would be more appropriate and guests then can make their own, as required. The position of the existing one in the corner by the doorway was very inconvenient.

Thank you so much for making possible not only a great retreat for Contemplative Fire, but also a splendid provision of space at Sheldon for filming on the Thursday. We have just got back from holiday so were not able to write before. The retreat was very strong for our participants and the staff team. The body prayer participants and the film crew were also delighted by the venue which (though I haven't seen anything on film yet!) worked beautifully, both outside and in. As soon as the DVD emerges I will,of course, send you a copy. Prior to that I shall be in touch about a form of words indicating our gratitude to the staff at Sheldon.

... as usual the wonderful atmosphere of Sheldon added to our worship and talks. Our group, who wanted to learn more about what it is to be a Quaker, appreciated the space, the relaxed feeling, and the way the groups at Sheldon remain discreet. As always, the kitchen in the Pound House was much appreciated along with its other facilities.

I was one of those who came to you for the Vineyard weekend and I just wanted to say thank you for such a lovely weekend in such a lovely centre. I came around 8 years ago and was responsible for cooking for the whole weekend, but what a surprise I got when I walked into your kitchen this time around! It was absolutely fantastic, you have done such a wonderful job. I have cooked in many kitchens over the years, good, bad and indifferent, but yours was the best of all! It made life so much easier.
My only thought - NOT a criticism, I hasten to add. I found the doors on the stainless steel cupboards rather difficult to open. My hands are a bit arthritic I must admit and that was probably the problem. There were those there that could help me though!

All the CYPEX members so enjoyed their day on Saturday (sorry about the wasp sting!) The youngsters are all having a residential stay next time - whether the adults could manage the logistics is rather another matter. Anyway, thanks so much to you all.

... of all the reasons we chose to come here - peace, beautiful surroundings, ease of access, warm welcome, caring (and tolerant!) environment and staff/community members. Clean and tidy state very much appreciated - high standard of maintenance valued. Pound House kitchen excellent. Thank you.

The M+M Holiday Project organised a week-long subsidised holiday designed to serve the local population of Perry Common and Short Heath at the Sheldon Centre ...in August ... A central aim was to develop social interaction skills, creativity, physical activity and catering experiences. It catered for a range of ages from babies and infants to 80 years and over who, for good reason, would not be able to have a holiday because of their particular needs: eg. physical disability, family breakdown, poverty, loneliness.
The holiday went very smoothly. Everyone was very helpful, rota's were followed and there were no major crisis or problems. Since 2000 when we first had a holiday at Sheldon, the centre has been extensively refurbished. The gardens are beautiful and inside is so comfortable, clean and well furnished. The Pig Pens were excellent. There were many individuals who specially benefited from this experience; one was able to voice fears for the first time about a forthcoming operation; a fractious group of young people were able to resolve some differences and bond; some other people (not members of the church) were really helped to relax and were able to understand more and accept church members as friends for the first time. In particular two young people, given confidence by performing in the talent show have joined the choir and are attending services regularly; and once again love was in the air - our 2004 visit brought two people together - and this time two others decided to plan their marriage.
On reflection, we feel we learnt the following:
~ Small numbers - we will aim in future to have no more than 35 people.
~ Leaders - we had no clergy, but there were still enough leaders for the numbers. We will aim to ensure we have a leader for every five people attending.
~ Included in this number of seven leaders would be:

  • Someone to lead the services
  • Youth/children's leader
  • Pastoral leader
  • An overall leader
  • The worship and daily services went very well and we experience a real and tangible sense of God's presence.
  • Good to have at least one day where people do not go out on day trips and when they need to make their own entertainment
  • Treasure Hunt went well and was enjoyed by adults and children alike!
  • Good to have full day out with people being given some money to buy their own dinner out.
  • Talent Show at the end of the week is a great climax to the holiday and people enjoy working towards this. It is also a free source of entertainment that people relish.
~ the facilities and equipment are excellent
~ the place is a good homely size and layout
~ the community are helpful and on hand, but leave us to run our own church holiday
~ the surroundings and views are superb, even if it's wet.

~ The centre is set up to a high standard
~ For its size, the facility is extremely good with a wide range of resources.
~ The centre is well maintained and presented.
~ The kitchen is large and generally well equipped
~ This resource can be used for a very wide range of purposes.
Excellent.
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if ...
~ A small freezer was available for groups to use
~ A mixer was available - even if a damage deposit was necessary
~ We suggest a 'site guide' should be put on all public notice boards to inform visitors as to what and where different places are (could have "you are here" appropriately set on each)
~ Would like to have had recycling of plastics available
~ Top plates on the cookers are a bit small for the large saucepans!
~ Would suggest more chopping boards, particularly for vegetables
~ Even if toilet rolls cannot be provided, can we suggest hand soap dispensers be provided in the general toilets
~ Shower in the ladies wash room - Pound House - might need non-slip mat (one lady in our group had a fall!)

Please convey my thanks to all your staff for their help and support, which as always helped to make our visit so enjoyable last week. Members of staff who have not been fortunate to visit Sheldon before have all commented on what a wonderful place Sheldon is. Once again, many thanks.

... of the peace, love and kindness to all. I enjoyed not having to make my bed on leaving day. It always seems so final. I enjoyed working with Jan, especially making the chocolate cheesecake and pink salad

... the environment, physical and spiritual, allows us to provide the important aspects of our residential programme... we all had a wonderfully 'refreshing' time!

Evaluation from Kingsweston Special School (Word html)

We've just tidied up the finances from our weekend and had a small surplus I enclose as a donation to Sheldon. Many people commended on the great place you have there, particularly first-timers.

FEEDBACK: Groups 2005

group bookings information

... the staff couldn't do enough for us. Everything was very enjoyable. The scenery beautiful, it was so relaxing. The peace in both chapels was lovely. ....It has done me good and I feel I can go back refreshed and able to cope with the situation. Thank you all so much.
My stay might have been more helpful if
... you could put up towel rails in each bedroom and perhaps a few hooks on the cross beams bedroom.

... I find it difficult to find the right words to express my feelings of how I felt on my return from Sheldon. I can only say a big thank you to you all for your love and care. My time in the chapels were so peaceful and those that led the meditations and compline produced such loving thoughts and words. I found it as I knew I would, very difficult to return to the hussle and bussle. When we come again I would change the programme, to give more free time to just sit, walk and think. I found my stay at Sheldon so helpful, very enjoyable in so many ways and for me very productive as to what to do on another visit. The peace, perfect peace from the moment we arrived, the gentleness of our surroundings and to wake early in the mornings and for me to see the rabbits playing on the lawn, the beautiful rainbow which never seemed to end. Thank you all for your love and peace.

... On behalf of our Trainers and Team, I would just like to say how much we enjoyed our weekend together. As we all come from various parts of Devon, we seldom have an opportunity to be together - so this weekend was an opportunity to work and relax together in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Sheldon. Thank you very much for this opportunity - and we hope to return.

~ helpful - our stay was helpful because of the facilities we needed were on hand. Staff were on hand at all times for queries.
~ enjoyable - because we were comfortable and we were able to enjoy the gardens and countryside at anytime, and we held our closing ceremony in the chapel which was enjoyed by us all.
~ productive - because we could relax together and enjoy the comfort of the house and beautiful countryside. Our meeting was very productive with lots of good ideas flowing! Many thanks.

... it is a beautiful venue, a very caringly restored/converted set of buildings, clean, warm, well cared for. The resident community were receptive to the needs of our group. Clear guidelines were offered on boundaries/interaction with other residents - these were phrased in positive terms (rather than we had trouble last year ...) which makes them much easier to accept and act on.
... No adverse comments, but good luck with the re-development of the pigsties.

~ peaceful
~ good company
My stay might have been more helpful/enjoyable/productive if...
the oven in the Long Barn was bigger. It is difficult to cater for the numbers involved. Loss of ovens in chalets will make catering more difficult.

... Once again we have returned from a wonderful time at Sheldon. As always it is such a fantastic place that provides the right environment for our pupils (and staff). This is only achieved by the way that you and your staff greet us. There is something so very special about Sheldon that I cannot really put into words. Please convey my thanks to everyone.

... I so enjoyed my stay with at Sheldon with the group. It was peaceful and relaxing. Everyone was so kind,, helpful and friendly. The bedroom was very comfortable and the food superb. The setting of Sheldon, grounds and countryside, really beautiful. The walks were most enjoyable (even when I got soaked to the skin going from Holne to Buckfast Abbey). The visits to Exeter and Bovey Tracey were most enjoyable. I felt really refreshed when I went home ..... Perhaps I'll be able to come and stay again one day, I hope so. Thank you all so much for a lovely time of friendship and fellowship, a truly wonderful experience.

... we enjoyed our visit because of the beauty and peacefulness of the place; we also appreciate its atmosphere. Everyone was helpful (centre 'staff') and friendly. Thank you all.
We would have found our stay more useful/enjoyable/helpful if
... some course members commented on the taste of the water and I agree that it doesn't taste very pleasant when drunk as a glass of water.

... the beautiful setting and accommodation away from mobile phones and interruptions at the Sheldon Centre provides us all with an opportunity to rejuvenate our volunteers and to thank them all for their hard work throughout the year. It has become a highlight in our year to visit Sheldon and is very much treasured by us all.

... I have had a great deal of positive feedback since the weekend, even from church members who did not attend the weekend, as the attendees talked to everyone about it, including encouraging them to come along next year. The venue was perfect for us as a church group of all ages. The dining room and cider press lounge in the Pound House were excellent communal areas where everyone could sit in comfort together. Whilst I had to find a caterer for the group, this job was made easier by you having contact names of local caterers. Ann G provided us with food fit for a king. Even washing up after meals was a way of really getting to know one another. Many people have asked me if we can return for next year's fellowship weekend, and I will telephone shortly regarding this matter.

... the atmosphere is immediately relaxed and peaceful. An ideal setting to retreat to (or to hold a retreat!) Everything is clean, well ordered and the decor is also restful. The Sheldon community do everything to ensure their guests are aware of everything they ned to know, all administration is clear and during our stay(s) everything is done to ensure we are comfortable - but in a way that is non-intrusive. Thank you again for enabling us to hold our retreat and making all our guests so happy!
We would have found our stay more useful/helpful/enjoyable if
... the tap water was not so 'chemical' - our guests often comment on the taste - especially as we drink a lot of fresh water.

~ we had the room to ourselves
~ were looked after solicitously but unobtrusively
~ did not have to bring our own audiovisual equipment
~ enjoyed the atmosphere and surroundings of peace and prayer

We found our stay enjoyable because .... of the facilities, scenery, weather and people. We are left to our own devices and know support is available if we need it.

... Just a quick note to say a very big thank you for our welcome and supportive care when we came for our Hospiscare Quiet Day in the Pound House last Saturday. I have to say that the accommodation and the attention to detail at Sheldon is superb and so lovingly and caringly managed and organised - so thank you to you and all your colleagues.

~ we have freedom and peace in beautiful surroundings
~ the new buildings areso comfortable and convenient for our purposes
~ the family are so supportive!
... in fact a little bit of Heaven on Earth!!

... Thank you on behalf of all of us from Hospiscare for making us feel so welcome when we were with you on 17 February. The Sheldon Centre is a beautiful and peaceful setting in which to think, have discussions and work constructively. We enjoyed the day very much and hope to be back again. With our thanks and best wishes.

... I would like to write and express my appreciation of your wonderful centre. I have run two Creative Play training courses at Sheldon and am in awe as to the calming and peaceful effect the environment seems to produce in the people I bring with me. Many people have commented on the beauty of the surroundings and I have seen people just settle into themselves and relax whilst they absorb the tranquility that Sheldon produces.
The facilities at Sheldon are second to none. Settled in an area of outstanding natural beauty the centre is a selection of barn conversions that have been finished to an immaculate standard. They are light, airy, uncomplicated and scrupulously clean. They provide the perfect environment for self-reflection and development and are a pleasure to be a part of even for just one day.
I would like to thank the staff at Sheldon. They have always been kind, accommodating, friendly and efficient. You can see their dedication and pride in Sheldon and that they have a jewel nestled in the countryside that they cherish and respect.
Many thanks again, and I hope to bring many people to benefit from the wonder of Sheldon in the future.

... To all the community and volunteers at 'Mary and Martha' Sheldon. Thank you so much from all of us at Lee Abbey, for your welcome, hospitality and excellent food!

.... of the comfortable, friendly, beautiful surroundings. The quietness of the chapel and the good facilities.

.... the Pound House was ideal for our group of 20 to meet in. The Cider Press which we used as a meeting room was ideal for a circle of chairs
there were areas for group discussion
the kitchen facilities were excellent
the atmosphere was commented on as just right
we liked having the separate dining area, large enough too for a book stall, and coffee chatter
the patio was good for a bit of air during coffee breaks
I appreciated the helpfulness of the Society's members
the locality, wildlife and particularly the owls!

We would like to thank you, and all those who contribute to the wonderfully efficient service provided at Sheldon, for all you did to make our stay easy and pleasant both before and during the time we were with you. As before, we found the ambiance ideal and the grounds and countryside were enjoyed by all who attended. We particularly appreciated the patience shown by you and Hillary to all our questions and requests when we visited you prior to the actual Retreat.

.You welcomed us so warmly, even to putting a "welcome" poster on the wall.
.The accommodation was very comfortable and we enjoyed being able to sit outside.
.The atmosphere was so peaceful.
.Tea was served quietly and discreetly, and the cake was delicious!

Everyone in our group have been appreciative of the surroundings and environment and the ability to make the centre our home in every sense of the word. We received a warm welcome and been given the freedom to fulfil our plans and programme. Our stay has enabled us to treat each other special and rediscover our special place and relationship with God. The new build is excellent, and superbly designed and well thought out.

... Your facilities were excellent. The rooms were tastefully furnished and welcoming - all contributing to a relaxing environment for our participants. Some of our group were anxious about what they were coming to, but the surroundings put people at their ease. We appreciated the welcome from the staff of Sheldon, and we felt cared for!

Thank you on behalf of the Exeter Cathedral Julian Group for making us so welcome on Tuesday and for looking after us so wonderfully well. It was a very special day. Thank you for all your care and help.

  • good company
  • good food
  • good weather
  • grounds looking wonderful
  • comfortable beds

I am writing to you on behalf of my ten members and leader to let you know how much we all enjoyed being at Sheldon yesterday. It was a wonderful experience for us all. Your organisation when faced with a full house and no running water for the day was impressive. Thank you so much. We look forward to booking another day at Sheldon next year.

Just a note to say how very grateful we all were for last night. It was a delightful evening and all the comments I have heard have been so appreciative of all that you do.

  • Good facilities
  • excellent kitchen
  • flexible and good bedrooms
  • "special" environment
  • your attention to detail
  • Right environment for social interaction and personal development
  • I like you all!

...the venue is extremely comfortable and well appointed. The surroundings are beautiful and relaxing and we thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere of Sheldon.
The staff are very helpful and it has been a pleasure to stay. Thank you to everyone.

We certainly did enjoy our stay at Sheldon with some of the best weather to bless us this summer. Thank you for looking after us so well. Our youngsters wish me to thank you for letting us know about the proposed roadworks over the river Teign at Sheldon.

I hope that everyone is well and enjoying this wonderful weather. Thank you once again for allowing us to come to Sheldon.
Enclosed is a certificate that we have produced for all pupils. Comments on them vary. One girl got hers for being the last pupil asleep each night!!
Please convey my thanks to everyone and I hope that we did not cause any problems......
