TIME OUT AT sHELDON
Send this page to a friend
These events are designed for people who want a bit of social company, but without the structure of a specific course or retreat, nor completely on your own in a private Linhay Lodge or Pig Pen retreat. You are also welcome to come for just part of the week if that suits you better.
It’s worth keeping an eye on the listings on the Sheldon website, as we may add more Time Out weeks as need and opportunity arise during the year.
Sheldon House Rules apply.

Reading Week

If you never find time to read those interesting books you’ve bought, or would love some time to rummage in Sheldon’s library, why not try a Sheldon Reading Week? In fact you don’t even have to read at all – you can just come and use the week for a private retreat, or to rest and catch up with yourself and God.
A Reading Week is a good choice if you want a bit of social company at meal times but you don’t want a fully structured course or led retreat. You want to do your own thing but not be completely on your own as you would be with a Linhay Lodge or Pig Pen retreat. Come for all or part of the week and use the space in whatever way suits you best. Whatever you want to do, we will feed you well and give you space.
1:1 time may be available for people in ministry, but only if booked in advance.

New Year Time Out

After a hectic Advent and Christmas season, what could be better than some gentle recuperation at Sheldon? Good food, good company, plenty of time and space to do your own thing. The Fat Pigeon bar open each evening and a candlelit midnight Eucharist to welcome in the New Year together. No silly hats, no party games – feel free to be as sociable or unsociable as you wish. Sheldon has generous central heating, and of course you can be sure of a warm welcome whatever the weather!
