Walking with Joseph

Led by Meg Warner

Is resilience the new mindfulness? It seems that once you start looking, you find it is everywhere. But do you ever wonder whether we’re getting resilience right?

This retreat explores resilience and resilient story through the biblical tale of Joseph (the Technicolour Dreamcoat one). Meg will lead us through Joseph’s story, drawing out surprising aspects of it that escaped Rice and Lloyd-Webber. She will highlight different elements of resilient behaviour and story-telling, and use it as a spring-board for evaluating our current love-affair with resilience, both in the world and the church.

You might wish to read Meg’s Joseph: A Story of Resilience, but the retreat will work just as well if you come to it fresh.

This will be a silent retreat with daily addresses and liturgy. (Timetable)
