Sheldon

From Passion to Pentecost

Led by Brian Draper

Through a mix of teaching, guided contemplative practice and soulful space for personal reflection, Brian Draper will explore the evocative in-between period from Easter to Pentecost - during which the disoriented disciples went from walking the Emmaus Road in sorrow and confusion, to encountering the risen Christ and awaiting the coming of the Spirit …

With the world as it is right now, who doesn’t feel caught ‘in between’ … in so many challenging ways? This gentle retreat will open space for us to say “Stay with me!” to the stranger who walks alongside us to Emmaus; to watch and wait together; to gather ourselves, catch our breath; and to find courage and Spirit-Filled inspiration for the days ahead.

A silent retreat but including opportunity for talking within the structure of the morning sessions. A short, late afternoon reflective walk or group walk of Sheldon’s labyrinth. Evening gathering for restful guided reflection on the day before bed. Option to share with community daily prayers

Brian Draper is an experienced retreat guide, and leads seasonal walking retreats in Hampshire, one of which was recently featured on Clare Balding’s ‘Ramblings’ programme on Radio 4.
